Editorial policy

Urban Stories aims to make clear, careful accounts of urban places and public life. We value accurate description, useful context, and a visible distinction between fact, interpretation, and opinion.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable sources and review names, dates, and other specific details before publication. Where an article makes an interpretation, we frame it as such and explain the reasoning rather than presenting it as settled fact. We avoid claims that cannot be supported by the material available to us.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not in exchange for payment or access. A partnership does not buy favorable coverage, and commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions. When a relationship could affect how a piece is understood, we explain it clearly.

Corrections

If a published article contains an error, readers can contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We assess correction requests, update confirmed errors, and make a clear note when a change materially affects the meaning of a piece.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, gifted, or partner-supported material is identified in plain language wherever it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when used, they are identified as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs.
